Apply for PUR Peace Scholarships 2026

If you're a Rwandan student passionate about creating positive change in your community, the Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) is offering an exciting opportunity. Applications are now open for six Peace Scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year, giving successful candidates the chance to study a Bachelor's Degree in Peacebuilding and Development.

What Does the Scholarship Cover?

Selected students will receive a scholarship covering:

Full tuition fees for four years
Annual registration fees
Internship fees
Dissertation fees

Please note that the scholarship does not cover accommodation, meals, transport, study materials, or other personal living expenses.

About the Programme

The Bachelor of Development Studies in Peacebuilding and Development is offered by PUR's Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, the first programme of its kind in Rwanda. Since its establishment in 2013, it has attracted students from eight countries and combines academic knowledge with practical peacebuilding skills.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

Be 30 years old or younger
Hold an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least 50% average (or an equivalent certificate recognized by NESSA for students educated abroad)
Demonstrate commitment to peacebuilding and development activities

Required Application Documents

Applicants should combine the following into one PDF file:

Completed PUR scholarship application form
Notarized copy of the national examination certificate
Secondary school transcripts for the final three years
Additional certificates or diplomas (if applicable)
Copy of National ID
Motivation letter in English
Two recommendation letters written in English

Important Deadline

The application deadline is 25 August 2026. Successful applicants will begin their studies in mid-September 2026.
